Welcome to Justin's Cure
Hi. I am Justin Hendler and on June 14, 2005, when I was ten, I was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes during a routine pediatric medical examination, two weeks before the start of sleep away camp. Of course I was scared. But with the help of my family and a great and gifted team of doctors and nurses at Columbia Medical Center, I faced the condition, started to understand it, and since then manage my life with diabetes. In fact, I even attended sleep away camp only two weeks after I was diagnosed. Today, four summers later, I try hard never to look back, never to think of why me, and to move forward. I am dedicated more than ever as each day passes to help kids, like me, adjust to life with Type I Diabetes. Through Justin's Cure, I, my family, and friends hope to raise money (one dollar at at time) to assist hospitals and research companies in finding a cure, what perhaps will be called Justin's Cure.
